I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps
me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold;
be frugal and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before
others and you can become a leader among men.

The vision of Grooming Future World Leaders™ (GFWL)  began to take shape in 1995 after participating in and observing other mentor type programs that were established with the purpose of assisting youth increase their grade point averages.

Many similar programs gained in popularity during this time and these programs, designed to help both male and female were on an average good to some extent. Yet programs designed to enhance youth/young adults to become global in their thinking and planning did not seem to be visible:
  • What happens when the mentor's bandwidth becomes too full which ultimately impacts the mentor's ability to continue participation?

  • How much exposure to careers other than what the mentor evangelizes for  the youth/young adult does they gain exposure to?

  • What are the long term objectives to have the participants remain in the program?

  • What happens when the youth/young adults graduate from high school?

  • What exposure does the youth/young adult have as it relates to global thinking if the mentor is not global minded?

  • Were any of the youth/young adult habits improved upon?

  • Are the youth/young adults able to identify their true talents and skills well enough to attempt to discover their purpose?

These are some of the questions that go unanswered. In addition, single and foster parents, and orphanage care takers mention additional challenges for both their youth and themselves. Namely frustration with the overwhelming parental challenges such as work/life balance, school meetings, events requires a fair amount of discipline to be victorious. Similarly, youth growing up in these environments may be frustrated because they lack support in the areas of homework, financial, career guidance and a host of other concerns.

Experiencing hectic home and work life in addition to an ever continuously changing world with its technological, economic and political changes, those working within the education systems are sometimes:

  • unprepared to coach students of diverse cultures/backgrounds
  • lack the adequate class time t tutor students who are failing
  • experience constantly changing school environments, and
  • observe hopeless attitudes of many students

Consequently, the collision of these issues can cause many students to get left behind.

That's were we're here to help. Grooming Future World Leaders  is staffed and advised by youth and adults who have experienced environments similar to the youth that we target. Our unique ability to identify with youth/young adult concerns and special needs along with value rich programs can assist to help our youth/young adults cope with their environments as well as emerge as victorious leaders in an ever changing world.
