GFWL Inc is aware of the importance of exposing our youth and young adults to places beyond their immediate neighborhoods. Oprah saw the wonderful results of sending young adults to ofther countries to raise their awarenss of issues and how they could be a help and support and even come up with solutions to some of the issues that they witnessed. Hence, she developed Oprah's Ambassadors. Likewise, there is a private school in the Atlanta area that has seen very positive results in exposing their students to other states and nations.
GFWL believes that every youth or young adult should have an equal opportunity to be inspired to learn and contribute to the world by being exposed to nations. Our target is "at risk" youth and young adults ages 18 to 30 years old from single family homes, orphanges, and foster homes. These youth lack the finances and opportunies more than most.

See our "International Travel Advisors" page by clicking on the menu button to the left of this page. We need more corporate sponsors to help our young adults to travel to these "life changing " places.

Research shows that less than 32% of Americans own passports. It is believed that a percentage of that figure includes newly naturalized citizens (they experience less hassle as they travel with the USA passport) and children of passport owners. When we look at passport owners over the age of 18 the 32% decreases to about 27%.
Why is this important? Global matters are increasingly becoming major news stories. Many Fortune 500 companies have global reach and are shifting their employment opportunities in to other parts of the world. And statistics show that a very small percentage of Americans understand foreign policy and how global changes affect them as individuals. We have less than 72% of our youth graduating from high school and research shows that some our students who are going on to college were not able to identify the USA on a global map that was not labeled with country names.
